I'm such a huge fan of R.E. Butler and The Wolf's Mate series. Michael's story did not disappoint. Right from the start you really get a sense of what the characters are like. I've said this in previous reviews, but this ones no different. R portrays excellent characterization, I really connected with Michael and Shyne. Especially in the beginning, learning all about Shyne, I felt like I really got to know her as a person and really liked her and her relationship with her friend Trav. I love that they found each other and became their own family. And with Michael, I came to know and love him from previous books in the series and couldn't be happier for him to find his true mate. No one deserves it more. Michael and Shyne meet at a county fair and both feel an instant connection. Michael joins the gym that Shyne works at to get to know her better. The rest is pretty much history except for a few obstacles such as three were-hyenas Dante, Cairo, and Mason who are Shyne's bosses who are looking to take her as their mate. No spoilers, but love always prevails in the end. What else is there to say, except I loved it! It was wonderfully written and with a passionate and sexy plot, The Wolf's Mate Book 4: Michael's & Shyne keeps you wanting more. Very much looking forward to The Wolf's Mate 5: Bo & Reika's story.

One thing I really like about this series is that the heroines are not all cookie cutters of each other. They each have their strengths and weaknesses and unique personalities. Shyne is a strong woman from a broken past who worked hard for all she accomplished. I think one of the things I like best about her is her relationship to her best friend. I hope we will be seeing more of him in the future. While in many ways, Michael is very immature, he also takes all of his responsibility to his pack seriously making him a fun character to read. I enjoyed watching them come together and learning a bit about the Hyena shifters.
Michael has found his mate....YAY!!!
This was a sweet, heart warming, smexy hot, filled with laughter and leaves you with a smile at the end kind of story.
Michael is sexy hot, charming and a lovable goof ball. Since Jason, Linus and even Callie have found their HEA he is feeling kinda lonely. Enter Shyne.
Shyne is a total sweetheart and when she and Michael meet at the county fair sparks fly.
A little bit of a hiccup by way of some totally hot hyenas but nothing that Michael could not handle.
I laughed and I cried when I read this.
Truly a great addition to this addicting series. Now on to Bo and Reika.
It's hard to sometimes put into words that don't give away a plat exactly why we liked the story or didn't. In this case I am struggling. While it was a wonderful story it does have many of the same aspects of other stories like it.

I love the character of Shyne in this one. She has had a lot of bad breaks in her life and yet she has come through them all with a good self image and a strong character. I think that her pairing as a true mate with Michael was a good choice.

I would have liked a little more action or conflict with the Hyena brothers that she worked for. They obviously wanted her as their mate. But at the same time, I am glad she didn't go to a 4 way menage. I am not a big fan of that many in a relationship. I can do MFM, but some how MMFM seems a little over the top.

I just happened on Wolf's Mate #1 and really liked the way it was written. I started looking for other books by this author and was fortunate to find that R.E. Butler had several Wolf's Mate books out. with each one I fell more in love with the story line and the author's couples. I hope R.E. Butler continues to write exciting, paranormal,mystery romances. each couple is so unique. This author will keep adding to my list. I never get tired of the wolf's adventures. I hope R.E. Butler will keep this series going for many,many couples and adventures to come. Books 1-4 have all been five star books added to my collection. If your looking for a great, fun read, go to and start with Wolf's Mate #1 and enjoy from there.
Everyone around him was finding their mates(its enough to drive a single wolf crazy). Michael doesn't want just any woman, he wants a true mate. Someone to spend the rest of his life with and have children with. Just when he is about to give up he runs across Shyne.
Shyne just got the job of her dreams, teaching fitness at the local gym. She loves her bosses but lately they've been creeping her out a bit (her bosses are were hyenas and they want her as a mate). Then she meets michael. She feels safe, warm and loved by him. The only thing that stands in their way is Shyne's bosses. Michael is going to have to show them that when it come to his mate, he is not the wolf they want to mess with.
Great Book I accidentally came across these paranormal stories at a very tough time in my life. They were able to let me leave reality for a while and for that I am great full. If a story can take you away from your sorrow, a time in your life when your heart has been torn right out of your chest, letting you smile, maybe laugh at something then kudoes to the author.

I have read the whole series and they gave me a break from pain I hope no one has to suffer. I have never heard of paranormal romance novellas before but thanks to "he-who-will-not-be-named" I bought a kindle and it has been a blessing. At my age I am not sure they thought I would be reading this type of book but I got one from the Library free and didn't realize that it was a series so I did buy the rest so I "got the rest of the story". I can say that this author wrote these books well enough that I was brought out of a very dark hole that I was sliding into and held my interest enough to get me to, for a short time, put one foot in front of another; smile once in a while; and even cry when I didn't think there was any tears left in me. To me that makes a good book/author. Thank you Ms Butler
